Shingle Style Home
North Easton, MA
This shingle style lakefront property on the border with Stoughton, MA was completed in 1994. The 4000 s.f. home was inspired by the pure geometric power and simplicity of several HH Richardson buildings just a few miles away in North Easton. The building took advantage of a prefabricated panel system designed by John Hall (President of Chapman Construction Design), a well respected leader in green building and sustainable interiors.
One of a dozen design collaborative efforts of Hall and MacLean from 1988 to the present, the formal layout of the building took advantage of the summer breezes and commanding views of this pristine Lakefront property. Striking a balance of a presence without domination, this home remained part of the bucolic point of land it grew from. The property set the bar for the highly desirable neighborhood and real estate that would develop around it, offering a stately yet humble modern home with handsome, traditional lines.
